About The SEND Collective

Where understanding meets action

I know just how confusing, overwhelming, and sometimes scary the SEND journey can be.

As a parent of three, I’ve experienced the SEND system personally and understand how daunting it can feel when you’re trying to get the right support for your child. The paperwork, meetings, legal language, and constant uncertainty can leave parents feeling exhausted and unsure of what to do next.

That’s why I created The SEND Collective — to provide warm, practical, and knowledgeable support for parents navigating the SEND system.

I’m Level 3 SEND Law qualified through IPSEA and a qualified Arts Psychotherapist with over 15 years’ experience. I bring together my professional knowledge and lived experience as a parent to offer support that is both expert and genuinely understanding.

I can help with:

. EHCP applications and reviews

. Improving EHCP wording for clarity and accuracy

. Preparing for and navigating mediation or appeals

. Understanding your rights within the SEND system

. Termly parent support groups - Free whilst under our care

Prices are work dependant and we charge by the hour - please do get in touch so we can give you an individualised cost.

Whether you’re just starting the EHCP process, struggling to get the right support included, or feeling stuck after a decision, I’ll help you understand your options and plan your next steps.

My aim is to take some of the stress and uncertainty out of the process, helping you feel informed, empowered, and confident to advocate for your child.

You know your child best. I’m here to make sure their needs are heard, understood, and properly supported.

You don’t have to navigate the SEND system alone.

Testimonial:

Jo has a wealth of knowledge to support Children with SEND and the processes and hoops you have to jump through when it comes to ensuring your child has the correct supportive provision. Jo calmly and efficiently supported and advised in Mediation and our Appeal against Wiltshire LA over their refusal to complete an EHCNA. She supported to compile a thorough Appeal, enough so that the LA conceded and decided to assess after all - without going to Court. Being so overwhelmed we didn’t feel capable of lodging the Appeal. Without Jo the EHCNA would not be taking place and we feel confident knowing that we can trust her to advise us further in order to secure an EHCP.  We just know she will ensure that the support is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound. Thank you for your expertise in navigating such a complex system. In addition Jo supported by providing template letters to send to school and the LA with regards to Section 19 Alternative Provision and for documents required Thank you so much for your support. We honestly couldn’t have done it without you. Mr and Mrs P
